Arty Party Artwork

25 May

Every month we have an Arty Party at Blue Twig Studio. A Girl’s Night Out sort of party (of course men are always welcome too), with wine and chocolate and art supplies. What could be better than hands covered in paint and glue? And art supplies strewn about the room?

This month we created cute and whimsical canvases. I had some samples with flowers, hearts, and houses. Everyone was able to choose one of those options or to create something new. Something that would make it uniquely theirs.

We started with canvas panels, but we added so much more. There was lots of paint, sprays, stamps, stencils, ink, gel medium and of course fun and laughter! There were a couple of kids joining the fun this month, so I wanted something that they could enjoy doing and would like to take home and hang in their room.  But I think all of the adults enjoyed being whimsical too!

I always love seeing how everyone interprets the instructions and creates their very own piece of art. Because even if you are trying to copy what somebody else has done, your own artistic and creative self will come shining through to make it your own.

Every month there is a new project to do. The fun part about the Arty Party is that it is a mystery until you arrive. You never know what you might be creating each month. All you know is that it will be fun!

Perhaps you would like to join the fun sometime?

I love seeing what everyone does. Because I will often have people here trying it out that haven’t really done any art stuff at all. So the projects are ones that don’t require prior experience because I want everyone to be able to create something.
