Fabulous Classes with Carol Sloan

4 Jun

Blue Twig Studio hosted the lovely Carol Sloan this week. She was here teaching two classes for us – Whimsical Markmaking and Painted Pages. Carol is a lot of fun as a teacher, and has created a lot of artwork so she really knows her stuff! You can read about her art journey on her blog. She is also part of the Sketchbook Challenge group, so you can see a lot of her work if you follow the challenge blog. She will be teaching at Art Camp for Women this next week.

We had two days of fun experimenting and playing with paint and paper and making marks and creating layers and all kinds of good stuff! There is something so freeing and exhilarating about just going with the flow and using a variety of products and tools and just seeing what happens. Everyone created some fun drawings and painted pages and there was much laughter and giggling and of course chocolate!

Here are some pictures to show you what kind of stuff we were creating and maybe you can see how much fun we were having too.

Getting our hands messy (its part of the fun)

Oooh, looks like fun!

Yummy colors!

Stack of pages in progress.

Pages laid out to dry.

More pages drying.

We all now have a stack of pages that will be perfect for art journaling or collage or mixed media projects. We had a lot of fun and I am already planning the next trip for Carol to teach at Blue Twig Studio. We all had a good time and had a couple of days just letting go and having FUN! Maybe you can join us next time around.
