Call for Artists! Butterflies and Friends!

18 Feb

Well it is time again for the Butterflies & Friends project and I hope that some of you will consider submitting a design proposal. I thoroughly enjoyed doing my butterfly last year (Zen in the Garden) and am planning on submitting an application again this year. Well, I was a little nervous and intimidated last year – my first time and all that – but I am READY for it this year! How about you?

This is my butterfly from last year. Zen in the Garden.

The project is sponsored by The Rotary Club of Colorado Springs, and helps to fund arts programs for local children. You can find out more about the program and the application process on the website www.ArtsAndFriends.org . I highly encourage any Colorado artist to submit an application to the committee to help this wonderful cause. The deadline for submissions is Mar 21, 2012, so you better start thinking about your game plan!

You can read about my participation in last years project here and here.  This is such a fabulous fund-raiser for our local community that I hope you will consider participating this year. Last year there were 31 butterflies created, and now they are all over our community in parks, local businesses, gardens, schools and backyards, every one making it a more beautiful place.

Thanks Sonja. It is a great cause, but also a completely different format than I usually work in, which makes it both scary and exhilerating at the same time. 🙂
