Zen Notecards by Cindy Sorensen

29 Nov

It is important to me to support artists. I visit arts & crafts shows, street fairs, galleries, etc., and I try to find something that interests me or that would make a lovely gift and purchase it. I think that handmade items have so much more character and beauty than store-bought items, and are a valuable way to support your community and small business artisans.  And yes, I know we all say that we can just make something ourselves. But lets face it, we don’t always have the time, or the skills needed, or the supplies necessary, to make a particular item. Often it is best to just buy from an artist who has already invested their time and energy into creating something beautiful. It’s OK if you don’t make it yourself!

Cindy Sorensen is one of those artists. She comes from a traditional sewing background, and is a gifted seamstress and fiber and mixed media artist. She does some amazing work.  If you are looking for something unique and beautiful, perhaps for yourself, or as a great gift idea, I have just the thing for you. A local artist (Colorado Springs area), and personal friend of mine, Cindy Sorensen creates these beautiful z e n t a n g l eâ works of art. You really need to see them up close and personal to fully appreciate them. Cindy has taken some of her favorite designs and created some beautiful notecard sets. The cards themselves are of nice quality cardstock with matching envelopes. They come packaged in sets of 10 cards for $9.50, with 3 different sets available. Here are some (not all) of the designs she has to offer.

You can find these notecard sets on the Blue Twig Studio website here. I hope you will think about supporting artists who create handcrafted products.

Deb it is so nice of you to share other artist’s work on your blog. And Cindy’s work is really gorgeous! I absolutely agree with you, buying handmade and supporting other artists is not only a nice thing to do, but it gives us a chance to have something made with so much love and passion, and I truly believe those items have a special energy attached to them. We all know how much of our soul we bring into every piece we make. Thanks for sharing these beautiful Zentangles! 🙂
